Business & Special Recycling - Miscellaneous
Toner cartridges
Many toner cartridges for laser printers or copy machines can be recycled or "recharged." Check with the place where you buy your toner to see if you can return empty cartridges. Or check with computer or office supply stores or with the manufacturer.
Plastic Grocery Bags
Most larger grocery stores take back plastic grocery bags for recycling. Look for a special container where the bags are collected or ask a store employee if they recycle plastic bags.

Call the DNR at 515-281-4367 for a list of permitted recyclers. Fluorescent lamps are considered to be a hazardous waste because of mercury content unless special testing shows they are not a hazardous waste. However, small household generators can dispose of the lamps at the landfill.
