2008 Mobile Collection Dates

The Schedule for moble Household Hazardous Waste Collections for 2008 is:

  • Saturday, April 5: Grinnell, 9 AM - Noon, City Garage, 1411 1st Ave
  • Saturday, April 19: Pella, 9 AM - Noon, Vermeer Manufacturing
  • Wednesday, May 7: Chariton, 3 PM to 6 PM, City Square
  • Saturday, October 11: Grinnell, 9 AM - Noon, City Garage, 1411 1st Ave.

Accepted materials:

  • oil based paint or paint with lead
  • paint removers and thinners
  • stains and varnishes
  • contact cement/glue
  • wood preservatives
  • epoxy
  • fertilizers and pesticides
  • rat poison
  • rechargeable batteries
  • gasoline and kerosene
  • drain cleaners
  • metal polishes
  • oven cleaners
  • pool chemicals
  • lighter fluid
  • roofing tar
  • floor care products, etc.
  • oil and oil filters
  • antifreeze
  • needles and medical waste
  • auto batteries

Materials NOT accepted:

  • latex paint
  • farm chemicals
  • asbestos
  • ammunition
  • radioactive materials
  • fire extinguishers and gas cyclinders
  • Any UNKNOWN materials.
