SCISWA Provides Contract Disposal
SCISWA also provides contract disposal services to the Rathbun Area Solid Waste Commission, which represents Appanoose County. Unless approved in advance by Rathbun representatives, all waste from Appanoose County flows through the Rathbun Area Solid Waste Commission Transfer Station, which is located at 3020 McCarty Street, Centerville, Iowa. SCISWA’s agreement with Rathbun identifies the specific services and rates for Appanoose County customers. Rathbun continues to provide its own recycling and household hazardous waste programs.

Agency Results from a Decade of Hazardous Waste Collection
The South Central Solid Waste Agency was awarded a Certificate of Excellence from Metro Waste Authority in accordance with 10 years of participation in the Household Hazardous Waste collection program. This program gathers various items that need special disposal in order to prevent harm to individuals and the environment.
