Minutes of the Meeting
March 14, 2007
Chairman Roger Schletzbaum (Marion Co) called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. with the following members present: Nels Christensen (Lucas Co.); Mike Beary (Monroe Co.) and Doug Shutts (Poweshiek Co.).
Also in attendance: Brian VanderMeiden (Midwest Sanitaiton); Dwight Mater (Marion Co. Alternate). Staff Leslie Sedlock, Rachel Sorge, Milo McCombs and Sara Bixby.
Moved by Christensen, seconded by Beary to approve the March 2007 agenda. All ayes.
Moved by Beary, seconded by Christensen to approve the minutes of February 2007. All ayes.
Moved by Christensen, seconded by Shutts to approve the financial report, bills and supplemental list of bills. All ayes.
Mr. Jermaine McGregor requested reinstatement of his credit with the Agency.
Moved by Beary, seconded by Christensen to support the Directors decision to not reinstate Jermaine McGregor’s request for credit. All Ayes.
Bixby updated board members on Chapter 113 rules (landfill rules) and gave a legislative update.
Bixby held the Agency’s first comprehensive plan update meeting February 15th in Albia. Rules require the Agency to hold at least two public meetings during development of the plan update. The meeting for Poweshiek County was originally scheduled for March 7th but has been rescheduled for March 14th – 7 p.m. at Montezuma City Hall.
Future meetings are set for:
Marion County – 7 p.m., April 12, Knoxville city Hall
Lucas County – 7 p.m., May 16, Chariton City Hall
